The design brief called for a sprawling, pavilion like home that maximized the available space, ensuring the design took full advantage of a property much larger than the typical lots recently developed within Torquay.
The home needed to be dynamic, with a bright and inviting central living area that connected the east and west wings while also providing the ability to close off each zone, allowing private refuge when required.
