The design emphasized natural materials, such as Blackbutt timber, and incorporated energy-efficient features, including a 6-star energy rating, enhanced insulation, and a 20kW solar power system. Prefabricated walls, scissor trusses, and bespoke glazing highlight the attention to detail. resulted in a modern, low-maintenance home that maximizes natural light and comfort.

Mick has made himself available to answer our simplest of requests or queries, if he has not had an answer for us immediately he responds to us the same day or at the worst the next day. Our queries to MJS’s Supervisor, Alex, have been treated with the same efficient professional manner. Mick has always been keen for us to visit the site and talk to contractors on site about what activity is taking place. He has also encouraged us to visit several of his other construction sites at different stages of construction for us to get a better understanding of particular details.”
“We have been living in our home since May of 2022, during the winter time the layout and size of the main living area, the extent of the insulation and orientation have shown that the house is very warm and similarly the house has remained cool in the few hot days that we have had this Summer.
The two outside Living zones can be opened up to form a very large area that allows cross flow breezes on a hot day whilst still keeping insects out with the Zip Track shade screens.
The design and layout of all the areas has been very functional and livable”
20 Prestwick Ave is a beautiful tree lined street in Jan Juc. The project was a knock down re-build, and the allotment has a great North facing backyard.
The design brief called for a sprawling, pavilion like home that maximized the available space, ensuring the design took full advantage of a property much larger than the typical lots recently developed within Torquay.
